About Hindle Wakes

Based around Manchester, over the years Hindle Wakes have built up a repertoire of traditional folk, contemporary and self written songs, accompanied and acapella, country & western, blues and pop. They have performed at a wide range of venues – including pubs, theatres, arts centres, town halls, churches and chapels, sports clubs, a museum, a farm, a barge and a train! – in the north of England and the Midlands as well as Ireland, France & Belgium. The group has appeared at folk clubs and festivals, charity evenings for a variety of causes, and various private functions, sharing the stage with brass bands, jazz bands, choirs, poets, Morris dancers and classical singers. They have performed on local and hospital radio, and have several of their self-penned songs on Youtube.

Hindle Wakes have made several recordings including the album “Live at the Cross Keys” and their new CD “Another Side of Hindle Wakes” is now available.
